Revenge

While on holiday, I managed to catch up/ watch new series. One of the new series I chose to watch was Revenge.

At the beginning of season one, Emily Thorne (played by Emily VanCamp)arrives in the Hamptons for the summer. She rents a house next to the Grayson manor, evidently to enjoy the summer there. However, it soon shows that Emily has a different kind of summer in mind. She is in reality Amanda Clarke, the daughter of David Clarke, who was framed for acts of terrorism he did not commit. She returns to the Hamptons to slowly destroy the lives of the people who were responsible for her fathers’ wrongful imprisonment.

Emily is soon established in the Hamptons, although her motives are distrusted by Victoria Greyson (Madeleine Stowe) and her head of security, Frank Stevens (Max Martini). They suspect Emily of numerous agendas, never suspecting her true identity.

Victoria’s son, Daniel (Josh Bowman) falls in love with Emily, and they start a relationship early in the season, leading to an engagement. It would appear as if Emily is only dating Daniel to get revenge on Victoria, but later on it is evident that she develops true affection towards him. Emily struggles with her feelings towards Jack Porter (Nick Wechsler), the man she loved as a child.

I would strongly suggest it to anyone who is in search of something new to watch. It kept me captivated for days, and I am eagerly waiting for more episodes.
